Assignments Done!

14 April 20199 December 2005 by Ross

I’m finding it hard to believe, but I’ve actually handed in all three assignments for this term! The third arrived at the Theology Office at approximately two minutes to four (four o’clock being the deadline) but they’re all away and all is good! Just thought I’d tell the world because I’m happy. And tomorrow I’m … Read moreAssignments Done!

Spot the Difference

14 April 201929 November 2005 by Ross

I was reading a friend-of-a-friend’s blog the other day. The person was thinking stuff along the lines of, “Why are we told that we are nothing without God? Why are people who don’t have God – nothing? Even when they do amazing things? … ‘The difference is that the Christian people have God. But I … Read moreSpot the Difference

Goblet of Fire

14 April 201924 November 2005 by Ross

Went to see Harry Potter IV… It must have been hard working out how to put such a big book into a few hours, but the bits they missed out were pretty much anything that relieved a tense situation. To be honest, it kind of felt like I was watching The Empire Strikes Back – … Read moreGoblet of Fire

Studiously avoiding study

14 April 201916 November 2005 by Ross

I handed in my first assignment on Friday. In fact, I think I was overly productive last week (wrote an assignment, read a book, wrote a book review, scrawled a sample essay question), which is probably why I’m finding it so hard to get down to doing anything much this week. On the other hand, … Read moreStudiously avoiding study

3.8 Days Later

14 April 20193 November 2005 by Ross

So I have a few minutes to spare before coffee-and-scones-time in the College… Maybe now is the time to reflect on my Autumn Soul experience! Warning – long post! The first question people keep asking is, ‘was it weird to not be on stage?’. And the honest answer is, “Yes!” – could it be anything … Read more3.8 Days Later

I love Autumn Soul

14 April 201928 October 2005 by Ross

I’m sitting at the desk in the Edgehill Library, finishing off some preparation for the weekend – in thirty minutes’ time, Kathryn will collect me and we’ll go to sunny (?!) Bangor for Autumn Soul. It’s the tenth AS, and for the first nine the band that has become Soul Purpose led worship. Last year … Read moreI love Autumn Soul

Aargh! Greek!

20 March 201924 October 2005 by Ross

Hmm, yes well. The first two weeks’ of ‘Introduction to Hellenistic Greek’ (in other words, the original language of the New Testament) seemed to go ok. I did Latin GCSE and this is taught in a similar way. All seemed well. Until I realised I was back to learning Vocab!!! Thankfully, as you can see … Read moreAargh! Greek!

Hello

Ross HarteHello, I’m Ross. I am astounded by Jesus’ love and grace, and do my best to follow him. I’m married to Kathryn and we have four growing boys; together we serve within the Methodist Church in Ireland as our island-wide family considers what it means to be followers of Jesus today. Kathryn wrote here a few times in 2020/1 but now has her own blog at notdisappointed.org.
